IMPORTANT Booking Details, READ BEFORE BOOKING!

We regret to inform you that scammers have been using our cottage images and creating ads on Facebook Market Place and other social media sites.

Please exercise caution and verify communications directly with us to ensure the authenticity of any messages or offers.

What is your maximum occupancy?

We have a maximum occupancy of 6.  This is set out by town bylaw so unfortunately we are not able to host more than 6 people on the property.  We do require photo ID of the person booking the cottage as well as the names and ages of all accompanying guests.

What time is check in/check out?

Check in is at 4:00pm and check out is 11:00am. We have a smart lock system and the code will be texted or emailed to you within 24 hours of check in.

Is a deposit required?

We require a $500 booking/security deposit that is due at time of booking. The full balance is due 30  days prior to arriving.  Your security deposit will be reimbursed within 3 business days of check out as long as there are no damages or items missing.  

Can I bring pets?

No, we are a pet free cottage

What is your cancellation policy?

Deposit is required at time of booking and the balance is due 30 days prior to arriving.  The $500 is not refundable if the booking is cancelled by the guest.

Can we smoke in the cottage?

No, we are a smoke free home

Will bed linens and towels be provided?

Yes we provide bed linens and towels.  There will be sheets, pillows, pillow cases, and blankets on each bed when you arrive.  Towels are located  in the closet of the lower level bathroom.

Will we need to bring dishes & cutlery?

No, we offer a fully stocked kitchen with enough cutlery/dishes for up to 12 people

Is the water safe to drink?

Our water system is lake water and we would not recommend drinking it. We do provide a cooler system and recommend that you bring an 18L jug of water with you.  These jugs can also be purchased at the local Walmart or Independent in Huntsville

What are the leaving expectations/how much cleaning will I have to do?

We provide an end of stay check list. Leaving expectations include re-arranging all indoor and outdoor furniture back to where it was when you arrived, putting all garbage in the shed, and making sure all dishes are cleaned and the dishwasher is empty. Our cleaners will arrive shorty after check out to do a deep clean and sanitize the cottage.

Is there internet?

Yes, we have unlimited wifi

Is there air conditioning?

Yes, the cottage has air conditioning.  

Is there wood for the fire at the cottage?

No, you will need to purchase wood and kindling.  It can be purchased in Huntsville at the gas station in the Home Depot parking lot.  Please do not remove sticks from neighbouring properties or the roadway  for kindling

Do I need wood for the indoor fireplaces?

No, the indoor fireplaces are both propane that are controlled with a thermostat.  You can enjoy the fireplace on the upper and lower level with the push of a button without having to worry about the mess of wood. 

Do you have a boat launch/can I rent a boat?

Unfortunately not.  Ripple Lake is a small lake which makes it perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding.  Because it is a small Lake it is hardly ever rough, which means the Lake can be enjoyed almost everyday.  There is not a public launch or a place ro rent a boat.  Only cottages that surround the lake can access it.

Do you have an age restriction?

For insurance purposes we are only allowed to accept bookings from guests 25 years of age or older.  We do require the names & ages of all accomanying guests.

During what months are the water toys available?

Water toys such as the Lake Mat, Kayaks, Row Boat, ect… are available for use starting the Victoria Day long weekend in May until Thanksgiving weekend in October.  

Is there a back up generator?

Yes, there is a back up generator on site.  In the event of a power outage the generator will automatically turn on powering the entire cottage.
